Mr. Sonam Lama, a dedicated architect from Tsum in northwestern Nepal, overcame significant challenges to excel in modern education and architecture, driven by his passion for art and design. Despite losing his father and grandfather during his studies, he pursued a Diploma and Bachelor of Architecture with merit scholarships, later earning a prestigious Erasmus Mundus Scholarship for master’s degrees in Germany and Barcelona. With experience in both private firms and post-earthquake rebuilding efforts in Nepal, including designing resilient structures and restoring cultural heritage sites, Mr. Lama has contributed significantly to urban development, conservation, and community rebuilding. As an architect, he manages all aspects of construction projects in Kathmandu—conceptualization, design, client coordination, and supervision—delivering functional, aesthetic, and compliant buildings while addressing the needs of diverse stakeholders.
